BIO

My name is Alana Jolly and I am the author and recipe developer of The Jolly Hostess, which features ideas, apps and cheers for busy hostesses. I put together this blog in order to share my original and simple recipes from the many soirées that I’ve been a part of.  Hosting has always been important in my family, as I started toasting champagne at age 13 (shout out to the champagne legacy!).  Now, living in Chicago, nothing beats the inspiration from excellent dining and preparing a spread for friends & family.

The kitchen is a place where I feel at home and is the foundation for all hostesses, whether you are preparing for a fancy cocktail party, impromptu movie night or football tailgate.  It is where loved ones come together and memories are made. Creating an appetizer in good company that is truly delish allows our busy world slows down. We find the we can celebrate and enjoy the party together (and that bottle of bubbly!). 

You can expect to see a new post every week…maybe every other week if I’m doing more toasting than hosting!

MISSION STATEMENT

I believe that apps and dips are their own food group, in taking chances in the kitchen and that champagne is the best to drink while cooking. I love hosting for family and friends, know that a healthy snack can be delish and that sometimes bacon and loaded nachos are worth the calories.  I prepare starters and cocktails that have easy and quick prep for busy lifestyles and always add The Jolly Hostess twist to my dishes.
