Cheese Board for Two utilizes simple, ideal-size cheeses paired with raspberries, peanuts and champagne grapes. Date night – with your man or your bestie – just got easier!
Cheese Board for Two came to be because I needed a quick app for date night.
It’s easy to forget how much I love to cook and be creative daily in the kitchen. Sometimes, I get in this rut and I’m pms-ing or cranky and it’s usually because I haven’t spent time cooking. This came to mind as life really started to speed up – wedding planning, late nights working, taking care of Indy, staying on top of writing – I know you’ve been there too! So I told my love that we should do date night every week. A night where we could create a menu, cook/grill/microwave (if it’s already a late night!), eat at our kitchen table, put on the tunes and enjoy (read: kill) a bottle of wine.
We started this a couple of weeks ago and I swear I’m less of a pissa (win for everyone) and have been looking forward to it every week! Cheese Board for Two was my first appetizer and I’m sharing for your own weekly date night.
The key to Cheese Board for Two?: Babybel Original and Laughing Cow Herb and Garlic.
If you’ve seen my Burrata Cheese Board, you know pairings are the best way to a unique cheese board. This time, it’s all about the Babybel and Laughing Cow – and a fruit compliment that I just love: raspberries. Your Babybel concoctions will be smooth and mild with an unexpected tart taste. Laughing Cow will result in a blended combination of herbaceous raspberry. And both with absolutely perfect portions.
Cheese Board for Two includes three more components: champagne grapes for an alternative juicy taste, peanuts for salt and champagne (or wine!) to polish it off.
The Jolly Hostess twist this week presents a perfectly-sized cheese board that makes up for its size in flavor. Use an a pre-dinner appetizer, as part of a spread or for snacking after work. You’ll be all about these minis and their match – fruit, nuts and bubbly.
