Dijon Beef Hand Pies from Macarons & Lavender.
Hello all, Lephan /la-f- on/ here, the traveler, cook and voice behind Macarons and
Lavender. While our darling Jolly Hostess, Alana, is gallivanting through Europe she asked me to showcase myself on her blog. So, let’s start from the beginning!
I was born on December… jay kay! I would never subject you all to that. Macarons and Lavender is a lifestyle, travel and food blog. My inspirations for my recipes come from my travels. So, when Alana asked me to write a guest post for The Jolly Hostess, I knew this recipe had to include some inspiration from my recent trip to Paris.
The inspiration behind Dijon Beef Hand Pies.
Paris is my all time favorite city, the Mister and I try to fly out there as often as humanly possible. Well, as often as our jobs allow us. While in Paris, our favorite thing to do is eat and walk, there is something so charming about the eat walk culture there. You know, grabbing a croissant, baguette or any type of pain (Pain au Chocolat, anyone?) and just getting lost in the city. This was in the main inspiration
for my Dijon Beef Hand Pies.
The fluffy, flakey puff pastry is inspired from the items one can buy from the boulangeries and patisseries in the city. The filling of ground beef, onions and scallions flavored with Dijon Mustard to highlight some French flavors. Dijon Beef Hand Pies are the perfect appetizers for a cocktail party or a movie date night with your SO.
